Timelapse

I've been experimenting with making a timelapse crochet video to put on youtube, unfortunately I'm hampered by the fact that the only webcam I have is my phone, it's pretty low resolution and I don't have a tripod or anything so I've been balancing it in one of those "make your own ice lolly" stands. (This actually works pretty well!)

The other problem is that I crochet really fast so all the shots are coming out blurry, I might just try taking shots manually instead...

I don't think I'll ever become a famous director.

business cards

business cards, originally uploaded by fuzzyfreaks.

Whee! My business cards have arrived!

I don't think they turned out too bad considering I've never designed anything for print before.

The grey bar at the top turned out darker than I was expecting, but they're readable so that's fine.
I've already gone back and changed the FuzzyFreaks title to a colour that stands out a lot better, so next time they'll look extra snazzy!

Now time to go hand them out to all and sundry.

Stitch Markers

Stitch Markers, originally uploaded by fuzzyfreaks.

Just got my new stitch markers, they're great!

I'm a real sucker for pretty little things like these. It's the same reason I have so much jewellery despite never wearing any of it.
Perhaps I was a magpie in a previous life?

Golems

golem3, originally uploaded by fuzzyfreaks.
Inspired by my love of all things Discworld, I've made a golem.

I've also made a smaller one with a blank chalkboard so I can put a custom message on there.

I haven't gotten round to taking a photo yet because I'll be doing a market stall with a friend of mine and I'm now frantically making toys and hoping that I'll be ready in time.

This will be my first proper market (school fetes don't count, right?) and I'm bricking it.
I know my smaller toys are really popular with kids, but I'm not sure how the weirder things will sell.

Still, you never know until you try.

Adorable Inchworm Pattern

I'm currently making a Medusa doll.
While searching for a good way to make her tail curvy I found this cute little inchworm pattern by Megan Granholm at crochetme.com.

It's adorable, I'll have a crack at making one myself once I'm finished with my current spate of ideas.

Zombies Galore

I've had a veritable deluge of orders over the weekend, counted them up today and there's only ten left to make!

Unfortunately I've run out of pastel green wool, as well as safety eyes and keyring clips for the free gifts.
And I'm down to my last few mailing bags!

Going to go on a wool finding mission in town tomorrow, and hopefully everything else will turn up in the next few days...
I'm aiming to get this lot out the door and done by Wednesday, then I can get started on a custom order I'm really looking forward to making.

Still, I'm enjoying being busy!

Rubber Stamps

Rubber Stamps, originally uploaded by fuzzyfreaks.

I decided to try making my own rubber stamps, as I'm too poor to order a custom one from the fantastic shops on Etsy.

I don't think they turned out too shabby, considering they're a first attempt and carved from ancient erasers.
I'm not expecting them to last too long, but now I know what to do, I'll probably fork out for a proper carving eraser - they're really hard to find online!
